Things to Remember

I find what I look for in people. If I look for God, I find God.
If I look for bad qualities, I find them. I, in a sense, select
what I expect, and I receive it. A life without challenges would
be like going to school without lessons to learn. Challenges come
not to depress or get me down, but to master and to grow and to
unfold thereby.

In the Father's wise and loving plan for me, no burden can fall
upon me, no emergency can arise, no grief can overtake me, before
I am given the grace and strength to meet them.

A rich, full life is not determined by outer circumstances and
relationships. These can be contributory to it, but cannot be the
source. I am happy or unhappy because of what I think and feel.

I can never lose anything that belongs to me, nor can I posses
what is not really mine.

To never run from a problem: either it will chase me or I will
run into another just like it, although it may have a different
face or name.

To have no concern for tomorrow. Today is the yesterday over
which I had concern.

To never bang on a closed door: Wait for it to open and then go
through it.

A person who has come into my life has come either to teach me
something, or to learn something from me.

Are you "lucky"?

Are you "lucky"?
Well, that may just depend on your state of mind – at least according to a British psychologist, Professor Richard Wiseman. I was reading a study he had done of 400 people from all walks of life, half of whom considered themselves "lucky" and the other half classified themselves as "unlucky." It seems that those people who considered themselves lucky had certain differences in how they thought and acted from the "unlucky" group.

The lucky people were relaxed, open to new things and new people, and were quick to spot opportunities. Unlucky people tended to be more tense, stuck in routines and afraid of anything new, and unwilling to take a risk.

Lucky people trusted their gut instincts and had a positive attitude – they expected good fortune or a good outcome. And, as you can guess, the unlucky ones always expected the worst.

When something unfortunate happened to the lucky ones, they were able to deal with it in a positive way. They did this by imagining that things could have been worse, and didn't dwell on their misfortune, but took control of the situation. The unlucky ones of course brooded on their misfortune, and it only confirmed to them how "unlucky" they were.

So that old saying about "you make your own luck" could turn out to be true. Here are a few tips you might want to try, to increase your own "luck."

Write down six new things to try out (anything from a new food, or a visit to a new place, or a new opportunity) that you can accomplish in a month.

Be more open to talking to people you don't know. Start your own "network." The more people you know, the more ideas and opportunities you have access to.

When you get up in the morning, assume that the day will be a good one and everything you do will turn out for the best.

Keep a "luck" journal. At the end of each day, take a few moments to write down only the positive and lucky things that happened. After a month, you can't help but recognize all the good things that are happening.

And,good luck!

Be thankful!

Be thankful that you don't already have everything you desire. If you did, what would there be to look forward to?

Be thankful when you don't know something, for it gives you the opportunity to learn.

Be thankful for the difficult times. During those times you grow.

Be thankful for your limitations, because they give you opportunities for improvement.

Be thankful for each new challenge, because it will build your strength and character.

Be thankful for your mistakes. They will teach you valuable lessons.

Be thankful when you're tired and weary, because it means you've made a difference.

It's easy to be thankful for the good things. A life of rich fulfillment comes to those who are also thankful for the setbacks.

Gratitude can turn a negative into a positive. Find a way to be thankful for your troubles, and they can become your blessings.

Yin & Yang (two powerful inner energies)

Within each one of us there are many energies. Two of these concern us here: one being male and the other female. If these terms make you feel uncomfortable you may substitute other terms of your own choosing, i.e. yin/yang, right brain/left brain, intuitive active or any other label you care to use. While these energies are distinctly separate from each other, they are equal in their importance.

If we were brought up with the belief that an action dominated approach can get us what we want from life, we are functioning primarily from the male energy. A more balanced formula for living today is one that integrates the two energies, our intuitive side in harmony with the active part of us.

When you are operating from your intuitive nature you will feel that you are in touch with a higher power. You will act without fear, be spontaneous, have an inner knowing, be creative and be the source of your dreams and inspirations, the force behind your continuing growth and expansion. Your intuitive nature provides the image and creative energy for change.

When you are operating from your active nature you will: initiate action, focus on the plan, manifest the form, supply logic and order.

When we integrate these two aspects of our nature we experience an inner union, a marriage of opposites. She expands her loving qualities while he fearlessly supports her with his strength and ability to focus. She supplies the intuitive direction which enables him to manifest the desired form, using his talent for planning and logic.

This then becomes a marriage made in heaven. He gains in strength and clarity as to his role, while she is clear on the message she is giving him. She grows more confident in her connection with infinite knowledge when he learns to trust in her intuitive abilities.

The most difficult thing is the _________.

Do You know
Amelia Earhart - the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic.

On July 1 1937 she set off to fly around the world. On July 2nd
her plane mysteriously disappeared and she was never heard from
again ...

She left the world with a great many things, one of them being
this quotes:

"The most difficult thing is the decision to act, the rest is
merely tenacity. The fears are paper tigers. You can do anything
you decide to do. You can act to change and control your life;
and the procedure, the process is its own reward."

"Better do a good deed near at home than go far away to burn
incense."

I wonder if this, in some small way, is related to Strengthening
and Weakening decisions?

She also said:
"No kind action ever stops with itself. One kind action leads to
another. Good example is followed. A single act of kindness
throws out roots in all directions, and the roots spring up and
make new trees. The greatest work that kindness does to others is
that it makes them kind themselves."

What would happen if 100,000 people simultaneously started
following this advice?

How long would it take for the spirit of kindness to spread
across the globe and "make new trees" from Albania to Zimbabwe?

It starts with you ...

Please forward this to at least 5 friends before you close
it and have a wonderful day.

All the best,

The Most Important Key To Prosperity

The Most Important Key To Prosperity
by Alan Tutt

There is a single key to prosperity, that will give you
everything you ever wanted in life. This one key to prosperity
will give you riches beyond your imagination, love without end,
and perfect health well past the average age of mankind.

This key is not a secret, as just about every motivational
speaker and business coach has presented the concept over and
over again to a deaf audience. In fact, you yourself have
probably been given this key many times in your life.

But have you listened? Have you taken the information to heart
and made it an ongoing part of your life? Have you improved your
skill to the point where 'excellence' is an apt description?

For that is the key secret to which all great people owe their
greatness. To be excellent in something, whatever it is, is to
be the one that is most sought after in that area.

Artists are a dime a dozen, but a great artist can command a
premium for his/her artwork. A single work of great art can be
sold for millions whereas a work of 'average' art is lucky to
fetch $100.

Musicians are the same in this regard. An average musician is
lucky to be able to earn a living from live performances. Great
musicians can earn $100,000 a night performing to sell-out
crowds.

In business, the same key applies. An average accountant will
earn $30,000 per year whereas a great accountant can earn over
$300,000.

An average website may earn only $1000 per month, but a great
website can earn over $10,000 per month.

The lesson here is that the better you are at what you do, the
more you can sell it for. But this key works in other areas
besides financial.

A person who have 'average' relationship skills will obtain a
certain amount of happiness in a relationship. Someone with
'excellect' relationship skills will obtain much more happienss
from the same relationship.

An average cook will enjoy the results of their efforts a certain
amount. A great cook will obtain much more enjoyment from the
foods they prepare.

Someone who has average skills in obtaining peace of mind will
find that peace eluding them often. With skills that could be
considered 'excellent', peace of mind would be a much more common
experience.

Becoming excellent in what you do will reward you far beyond
money, but will also reward you with love, happiness, peace of
mind, and anything else you can imagine.

How to become excellent? That is the inevitable question that
comes up next. That too is no secret, but is something that very
few people want to acknowledge.

Practice. Practice. Practice.

But before you can practice, you have to know what excellence is.
You have to know what you are practicing to obtain. To know the
goal is the first step in reaching it.

For this, you usually want to seek out those who are considered
excellent in the area that you wish to develop your own
excellence.

A writer will want to consult with excellent writers.

A musician will want to rehearse with excellent musicians.

A teacher will want to learn from excellent teachers.

A salesperson will want to learn from excellent salespeople.

Someone wanting more peace of mind will want to learn from
someone who has an abundance of it.

Someone wanting a better relationship will want to learn from
others who have great relationships.

And once you find an example to learn from, try to do what they
do. In the process, you will learn what leads to excellence and
eventually you will learn how to be excellent yourself, even in
situations where your examples were never studied.

Don't you realize what you read here always has a purpose?
You can find out what Wealthandsecure.com has for you to learn.

Becoming excellent takes time. It takes work. But the rewards
are so out of proportion to the effort involved that you'd think
that you found the gold mine.

A Never-Fail Business Opportunity

by Alan Tutt

Everywhere you look online, someone is touting a new, fully tested,
impossible-to-fail method of making more money than you've ever dreamed
possible.

And if you're the type to fall for the flash and sizzle of the
marketing claims, you've tried enough of them to know that it ain't always what
it's cracked up to be.

Actually, I get a chuckle out of many of the get-rich-quick schemes
that flood my email inbox on a daily basis. Even though some of these
proposals do seem to have some validity, I know enough about the true
secrets of prosperity to know when a proposal is a genuine business
opportunity, and when it's just a baited lure on the end of a fishing line.

I learned this from personal experience.

When I was still in high-school, my dad helped me get into a business
that sounded great. In only a matter of months, we would be earning
well over $5000 per month, and after a year, we'd be earning over $20,000
per month.

The company we talked to gave us newspaper clippings and industry
reports to show the demand for what we would be producing. They gave us
pages of numbers showing us just how easy our product would multiply and
grow in value. They gave us so much information that we just KNEW that
we could succeed in the business of earthworm farming.

Right now, I'm imagining that most people who read this will be rolling
on the floor with laughter. I understand completely. Even now,
thinking about that time, I can't believe we were so foolish to think that we
could make that much money with worms.

My dad and I spent over a year building special boxes in which to keep
the earthworms. We watered the soil every day and sprinkled corn meal
and alfalfa over it before we broke up the soil to give those little
guys room to move around.

But after a year, we built a contraption to separate the worms from the
dirt, and hand delivered our first year's crop of worms to the company
we bought the starter package from. I don't remember how much we got
from that transaction, but I can say with absolute certainty that it was
less than $1000.

Where did we go wrong in that venture?

First of all, we never investigated further to see if the information
that was given to us was valid. The company that sold us that starter
package could have been telling us lie after lie just to get our money.
Those pages of numbers could have been completely made up for all we
really knew. And the newspaper clippings? I know now that there are
companies that offer printing on newspaper stock for a fee.

Another mistake we made was not checking with other 'earthworm farmers'
about their experience. If we had talked to others who had pursued the
earthworm farming opportunity, we would have learned that the money
wasn't going to be rolling in as we thought.

In short, our main mistake was not having enough information to make an
informed decision. Had we spent a few days (or even a few hours)
checking into the claims made, we would have known that it was a waste of
time and we'd be better off in another business.

Before you jump into another business opportunity, make sure you have
enough information to know you're not biting a flashy lure.

The Starfish

Once upon a time there was a wise man who used to go to the ocean to do
his writing. He had a habit of walking on the beach before he began his
work. One day he was walking along the shore. As he looked down the
beach, he saw a human figure moving like a dancer. He smiled to himself to
think of someone who would dance to the day. So he began to walk faster
to catch up. As he got closer, he saw that it was a young man and the
young man wasn't dancing, but instead he was reaching down to the shore,
picking up something and very gently throwing it into the ocean. As he
got closer he called out, "Good morning! What are you doing?" The young
man paused, looked up and replied, "Throwing starfish in the ocean." "I
guess I should have asked, why are you throwing starfish in the ocean?"
"The sun is up, and the tide is going out, and if I don't throw them in
they'll die." "But, young man, don't you realize that there are miles
and miles of beach, and starfish all along it. You can't possibly make a
difference!" The young man listened politely. Then bent down, picked up
another starfish and threw it into the sea, past the breaking waves and
said, "It made a difference for that one."

There is something very special in each and every one of us. We have
all been gifted with the ability to make a difference, and if we can
become aware of that gift, we gain through the strength of our visions the
power to shape the future. We must each find our starfish. And if we
throw our stars wisely and well, the world will be blessed.

Thinking...

=================================================================
It started out innocently enough. I began to think at parties now
and then to loosen up. Inevitably though, one thought led to
another, and soon I was more than just a social thinker.

I began to think alone - "to relax," I told myself - but I knew
it wasn't true. Thinking became more and more important to me,
and finally I was thinking all the time.

I began to think on the job. I knew that thinking and employment
don't mix, but I couldn't stop myself.

I began to avoid friends at lunchtime so I could read Thoreau and
Kafka.

I would return to the office dizzied and confused, asking, "What
is it exactly we are doing here?"

Things weren't going so great at home either. One evening I had
turned off the TV and asked my wife about the meaning of life.
She spent that night at her mother's.

I soon had a reputation as a heavy thinker. One day the boss
called me in. He said, "Skippy, I like you, and it hurts me to
say this, but your thinking has become a real problem. If you
don't stop thinking on the job, you'll have to find another job."
This gave me a lot to think about.

I came home early after my conversation with the boss. "Honey," I
confessed, "I've been thinking..."

"I know you've been thinking," she said, "and I want a divorce!"

"But Honey, surely it's not that serious."

"It is serious," she said, lower lip aquiver. "You think as much
as college professors, and college professors don't make any
money, so if you keep on thinking we won't have any~money!"

"That's a faulty syllogism," I said impatiently, and she began to
cry. I'd had enough. "I'm going to the library," I snarled as I
stomped out the door.

I headed for the library, in the mood for some Nietzsche, with
NPR on the radio. I roared into the parking lot and ran up to the
big glass doors... they didn't open. The library was closed.

To this day, I believe that a Higher Power was looking out for me
that night.

As I sank to the ground clawing at the unfeeling glass,
whimpering for Zarathustra, a poster caught my eye. "Friend, is
heavy thinking ruining your life?" it asked. You probably
recognize that line. It comes from the standard Thinker's
Anonymous poster.

Which is why I am what I am today: a recovering thinker. I never
miss a TA meeting. At each meeting we watch a non-educational
video; last week it was "Porky's." Then we share experiences
about how we avoided thinking since the last meeting.

I still have my job, and things are a lot better at home. Life
just seemed... easier, somehow, as soon as I stopped thinking.

The Definition of Happiness

Happiness has been defined as, "The progressive achievement of a worthy ideal, or goal." When you are working progressively, step-by-step toward something that is important to you, you generate within yourself a continuous feeling of success and achievement.

You feel more positive and motivated. You feel more in control of your own life. You feel happier and more fulfilled. You feel like a winner, and you soon develop the psychological momentum that enables you to overcome obstacles and plough through adversity as you move toward achieving the goals that are most important to you.

Determine Your Values
Personal strategic planning begins with your determining what it is you believe in and stand for—your values. Your values lie at the very core of everything you are as a human being. Your values are the unifying principles and core beliefs of your personality and your character. The virtues and qualities that you stand for are what constitute the person you have become from the beginning of your life to this moment.

The Legend

Many years ago in upstate Maine,Adam Jefferson was searching through the attic of the home that had been in his family for generations. He pried open an old trunk and discovered a wonderful collection of Brass Button Bears sewn by his grandmother,a loving woman who only wished the best for everyone she met.
Each bear was designed around a sport-baseball,football,tennis,golf.
Adam marveled at the personality and detail in each bear and thought everyone should have the opportunity to own these bears.Working with local craftspeople,he created a collection which he called the
Brass Button Sports Bears

As the years went on,Adam added more bears, bringing the collection to 10 in all.

Much to Adam's surprise and delight, people who collected the bears reported increased Prosperity and improved health in their Lives.

I've received one of them like a present westerday and I'm so happy.

Abraham Lincoln Didn't Quit

"The sense of obligation to continue is present in all of us. A
duty to strive is the duty of us all. I felt a call to that
duty."

-- Abraham Lincoln

Probably the greatest example of persistence is Abraham Lincoln.
If you want to learn about somebody who didn't quit, look no
further.

Born into poverty, Lincoln was faced with defeat throughout his
life. He lost eight elections, twice failed in business and
suffered a nervous breakdown. He could have quit many times---but
he didn't and because he didn't quit, he became one of the
greatest presidents in the history of our country. Lincoln was a
champion and he never gave up. Here is a sketch of Lincoln's road
to the White House...

1816 His family was forced out of their home. He had to work to
support them.

1818 His mother died

1831 Failed in business

1832 Ran for state legislature - LOST.

1832 Also lost his job - wanted to go to law school but couldn't
get in.

1833 Borrowed some money from a friend to begin a business & by
the end of the year he was bankrupt. He spent the next 17 years
of his life paying off this debt.

1834 Ran for state legislature again - WON

1835 Was engaged to be married, sweetheart died and his heart was
broken.

1836 Had a total nervous breakdown & was in bed for six months.

1838 Sought to become speaker of the state legislature - DEFEATED

1840 Sought to become elector - DEFEATED

1843 Ran for Congress - LOST

1846 Ran for Congress again - this time he WON

1848 Ran for reelection to Congress - LOST

1849 Sought the job of land officer in his home state. - REJECTED

1854 Ran for Senate of the United State - LOST

1856 Sought the Vice-Presidential nomination at his party's
national convention - got less than 100 votes - LOST

1858 Ran for U. S. Senate again - LOST

1860 Elected president of the United States!

As you can see Mr. Lincoln never gave up, don't you!

A smile

A smile costs nothing but gives much. It enriches those who
receive, without making poorer those who give. It takes but a
moment, but the memory of it sometimes lasts forever. None is so
rich or mighty that he can get along without it, and none is so
poor but that he can be made rich by it.

A smile creates happiness in the home, fosters Good Will in
business, and is the countersign of friendship. It brings rest
to the weary, cheer to the discouraged, sunshine to the sad; and
it is Nature's best antidote for trouble.

Yet, it cannot be bought, begged, borrowed, or stolen, for it is
something that is of no value to anyone until it is given away.
Some people are too tired to give you a smile. Give them one of
yours, as none needs a smile so much as he who has no more to
give.

Seattle Special Olympics

"It is possible to fail in many ways...while to succeed is possible
only in one way." - Aristotle

============================================================
Seattle Special Olympics
============================================================
A few years ago at the Seattle Special Olympics, nine
contestants, all physically or mentally disabled, assembled at
the starting line for the 100 yard dash.

At the gun, they all started out, not exactly in a dash, but with
a relish to run the race to the finish and win. All, that is,
except one boy who stumbled on the asphalt, tumbled over a couple
of times and began to cry. The other eight heard the boy. They
slowed down and looked back. They all turned around and went
back. Every one of them. One girl with Down's Syndrome bent down
and kissed him and said," This will make it better." All nine
linked arms and walked across the finish line together. Everyone
in the stadium stood, and the cheering went on for several
minutes. People who were there are still telling the story. Why?
Because deep down we know one thing.

What matters most in this life is more than winning for
ourselves. What truly matters in this life is helping others win,
even if it means slowing down and changing our course.

Angels

I stumbled across this poem from Veronica Hay yesterday, and really wanted to share it with you today.

It's called... "What Do Angels Look Like?"

* * *

Like the little old lady who returned your wallet yesterday.

Like the taxi driver who told you that your eyes light up the world, when you smile.

Like the small child who showed you the wonder in simple things.

Like the poor man who offered to share his lunch with you.

Like the rich man who showed you that it really is all possible, if only you believe.

Like the stranger who just happened to come along, when you had lost your way.

Like the friend who touched your heart, when you didn't think you had one to touch.

Angels come in all sizes and shapes, all ages and skin types.

Some with freckles, some with dimples, some with wrinkles, some without.

They come disguised as friends, enemies, teachers, students, spouses and fools.

They don't take life too seriously, they travel light.

They leave no forwarding address, they ask nothing in return.

They wear sneakers with gossamer wings, they get a deal on dry cleaning.

They are hard to find when your eyes are closed,

But they are everywhere you look, when you choose to see.

* * *

Do you think your life is without angels right now?

And are you SURE?

I used to love watching City of Angels. I'd cry all the time

How many Angels will you meet in your life today?

Remember... Magic happens everywhere.

Have a fantastic Boxing Day! :)
